Step 1: Navigate to the email settings page
This can be found under “Settings” on the admin navbar.
Step 2: Have a Gmail account.
This example is for a simple gmail account setup. If you’d like to get a bit more fancy with G Suite or other email providers, please wait for deeper dive tutorials or contact us for help.
Step 3: Plug in your Gmail Account information
Google can be a bit finnicky about accepting emails sent from webapps, which is fair. If you have trouble validating your email, please try switching on Less Secure Apps in your Gmail Security Preferences. This will allow the app to send emails easily through your Gmail.
If you’d like to avoid the Less Secure Apps route, you can turn on two-factor authentication and generate and App Password.
These are the settings for gmail:
From Address: firstname.lastname@example.org
From Name: Your School Name
Step 4: Send test message
Send a test email to make sure all your settings are fine. If there’s no issue you’ll get a message like this:
Step 5: Save your information
Don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom of the page to save your changes!
